U.S. Officials Bash ‘Sh***y’ Belgian Security Forces

U.S. counterterrorism officials are frustrated and angry at Belgium’s inability to tackle ISIS terror cells that are successfully plotting murderous attacks on the West from inside the country’s tiny capital city.

The twin terror attacks in Brussels that left at least 30 dead and 230 injured on Tuesday, despite repeated warnings from Washington, left U.S. officials fuming.

A senior U.S. intelligence officer likened the Belgian security forces to “children.”

“It’s really shitty tradecraft,” the agent told The Daily Beast.

Brussels has become a hotbed of terrorism—concentrated in the Molenbeek district near the city center—and yet the Belgians have made little progress in disrupting a network of violent extremists linked to last year’s Paris attacks that killed 130 people.

Even before the arrest last week in Brussels of Salah Abdeslam, a suspected terrorist behind the Paris attack, there were worries among many U.S. counter terrorism officials of an attack in Belgium. The Belgian authorities had long struggled to resource a counter terrorism campaign. At the same time, it ostracized its burgeoning minority communities, creating isolated enclaves like Molenbeek where potential jihadists could easily hide.

After Abdeslam's arrest, many in Belgium feared a retaliatory attack. But while U.S. officials sought to help as part of a growing push for U.S. and European cooperation, there were limits, given Belgium’s limited security resources and amid a growing migration community from places like Syria.

News of today’s attack was met in some parts of Washington with resigned frustration.

“There was only so much we could do to help,” one official explained to the Daily Beast.

Yes, what about the fuss a few months back about governors refusing refugees, Congress halting visas, revising immigration policy... ho hum, next news item please, that entertained us for about 3 days.

So it’s the police’s fault if you leave your keys in the ignition and your car keeps getting stolen? Don’t blame Belgium’s security forces, blame the forces that are allowing the vermin into these countries to begin with.

Guys, it’s “San Bernardino”. It’s the overlooked small details in life, like misspellings and fucked up surveillance, that can often mean the difference between life and death.

It’s the only thing we know about the next terror attack on US soil - we can’t stop it and won’t even try to do the most basic protection measures.

1.) We can't stop it because that would be racist.

2.) We won't even try because to do so would be profiling and offensive to the Islamic terrorists.

Now we’ve been jinxed. Good job, senior “intelligence” official.

That’s because the Belgians are more worried about offending people than protecting them.

[...blame the forces that are allowing the vermin into these countries...]

Exactly, a fish rots from the head down and the same applies to our country.

My sister in law flew out of O’Hare yesterday. In no way did I notice any increase in security.

None.

Toss in our current president’s misdirection and obfuscation ...not to mention his very defense of the religion of peace.

It’s a recipe for disaster.

Nearly 20 years ago, I was spending a lot of time in Brussels, doing some engineering work for the US Mission to NATO.

Even then, there were sections of town where you’d go for blocks with all signs in either Turkish or Arabic, and not see a single person in Western clothing.

I can’t imagine what it’s like now. .

I’m there with you on the showing of solidarity, but Belgium is a special kind of basket case, starting with its very nature — a combination of the Flemish (Dutch speakers) in the northern half, and the Walloons (French speaking) in the southern half, with a smattering of Germans in the east and the capital of Brussels sitting in the middle of it all. That kind of innate multiculturalism (and European open borders) makes it a natural haven for the growth of supremely insular Muslim communities. Unlike the U.S., there’s no cultural norm, or at least language, to assimilate to. At least they’ve got great beer.

How effective can a security service be when you have open borders & immigrants are poring over your borders? How motivated can you be when your leaders are in total denial of the problem?

Obviously, only a police state with unlimited detain, search, & seizure abilities can effectively mute terrorist attacks. “Your papers please. Where are you going, where have you come from, & what is your business here? I have to search you.”

Is muslim immigration WORTH submitting to a police state? What happens when muslims attain the majority & the police state is theirs to control?

Western leaders are destroying their nations, committing cultural suicide, exchanging civilized society for savagery, in the name of political correctness & the insanity of multiculturalism.

And when they are done setting the stage by doing so, the people will cry out for that police state with...

“Your papers please. Where are you going, where have you come from, & what is your business here? I have to search you.”

They will demand it! And there will be a well secured border--to keep them in.

Only so much we can do to help? What a cop out...name the beast publicly and kill it. Keep killing it or pushing it back in its den until it fears to tread into the light of the world forever.

One day, “Onward Christian Soldiers” won’t be a song, it will be a recruitment poster.
