If he doesn't denounce the ad, then he owns it as the race moves out of Mormon country.
If he does denounce the ad, then it looks like he's capitulated to keep the "bombshell" hidden.

He has pointed out several times that Trump steers towards "conflicts" that provide him two ways to win.
I don't think he is a Trump supporter, but he is a pretty astute examiner of his mindset. He correctly predicts a lot of Trump's moves.
