Trump's son blasts 'disgusting' Cruz over Melania ad: 'It's sick he did that'

Donald Trump's son, Eric, blasted Sen. Ted Cruz on Wednesday over an ad released by an anti-Trump PAC that takes aim at Trump's third wife.

The ad of a scantily clad Melania Trump was circulated in Utah by Make America Awesome PAC, which is not affiliated with the Cruz campaign. But that didn't stop Trump from linking Cruz to the ad on Twitter Tuesday night and threatening to "spill the beans" on the Texas senator's wife, Heidi.

"I noticed this morning ... Ted Cruz is saying things about Melania, and your father fired back," Fox News' Ainsley Earhardt told Eric Trump during an interview Wednesday morning.

Trump responded with the suggestion that Cruz's "super PAC is him" and continued to blast his father's opponent.

"I think it's disgusting to tell you the truth," he told the trio of "Fox & Friends" hosts. "Just to be completely honest, here's a man who praises — he's always talking about morality, I'm going to take the high road, and yet he does that."

"I mean, that's the sick part of politics," Trump said, adding that his stepmother is "an amazing woman."

He continued, "She's solid as a rock. She's an amazing mother. It's sick that [Cruz] did that."

Of course Saint Ted could speak out against it. But alas, he was too busy accepting !Jebs! endorsement. Typical Ted slime, let someone else do the dirty work and step back like he had nothing to do with it (see Ben Carson and Iowa). He is after all the beneficiary of the ad.

What about Kasich? He hasn’t condemned it either. Is his wife fair game also? Or is this just a giant smear job against cruz?

No, are you that thick?
Really?

If Cruz doesn’t condemn the content, then Cruz is fair game for the same treatment. What,, you want a double-standard? Of course you do.

Cruz should condemn the ad. So should you. Neither of you have done so.

Of course Kasich could do the same thing, but he hasn’t. Is his family fair game also?

You are confused. You don’t go after people’s family in a campaign.

Cruz tried to bait Trump with having others do his dirty work. When Trump and his family defended Melania, Cruz comes out with a phony statement. It backfired. Now Mrs. Cruz is fair game.

Kasich hasn’t condemned the content of this Independent PAC either. Is his family fair game also?

The degree of dishonesty being shown by the supporters of Trump (Let us praise Him) and by the Trump campaign is mind blowing. Those who have partaken of the kool-aid will believe ANYTHING. The funny thing is that it is likely all unnecessary — Trump (Blessed is His Name) could have won without it. Trump supporters have shown themselves to be willing to throw TRUTH away — what other things of value will they willingly discard?

IMHO, we are going to be SO SCREWED IN NOVEMBER. Will the Trump supporters blame their candidate or themselves for such a defeat? Of course they won’t. What a missed opportunity.

“Kasich didn’t either. Does that make his family fair game as well?’

If a pro-Kasich ad comes out smearing another candidate’s wife (say Heidi), you gonna be ok with that? You gonna expect Kasich to go along with it? Sure you are. You’d demand he denounce it and condemn it.

Hypocrites.

I guess defenders of sleaze have forgotten the fact...it doesn't matter. What matters is what Cruz did or didn't do. What is Cruz willing to sacrifice for power?

These are not the actions of a "principled conservative." Cruz knows better. He's being overwhelmed by a lust for power and led by unprincipled advisors.

“How do you hide behind a PAC that doesn’t represent your campaign?”

OMG,,the ad said to vote for Ted Cruz! How the hell does that NOT support the Cruz campaign? Have you even seen the ad? Or are you just being an ass for fun.

It is true of some PACs more than others. Cruz has nothing to do with this Make America Awesome business.

An anti-Donald Trump group is running ads with Melania Trump’s nude photo in hopes that it will deter voters from supporting him.

The Make America Awesome super PAC launched a Facebook campaign against the Republican front-runner this week that targets conservative voters.

The ads include a photo of Mitt Romney, a baby claiming Trump is pro-choice, and Melania’s nude photo shoot with GQ from 2000.

Liz Mair, founder of Make America Awesome, said the point of the campaign is to rally voters around Ted Cruz, and she expects the ads to reach 10,000 Mormon voters per day.

Yep, the ad didn’t say “Or you could vote for someone else”. It said “Or you could vote for Ted Cruz.”

Who else is there who has even a remote chance to edge Trump out?

That doesn't mean Cruz had anything to do with the ad, nor for that matter does it even mean a Cruz supporter put it out

Anyone who supports someone who has been attacked and attacked and attacked as having said things he didn't, sure as hell isn't going to put out eminently attackable ads in a very Conservative (Mormon) state.

If anything that would HURT his numbers there and feed the spin/smear machine.

No friend of the Cruz campaign would go there, as a tactical matter. No potential gain, all loss.

But someone looking to feed the anti-Cruz industry an item to splatter around would. Like I said it reeks of dirty tricks.
