North Carolina revokes transgender and gay protections
BBC News ^ | March 24, 2016

The US state of North Carolina has enacted a law that bars its cities and counties from having their own anti-discrimination rules.

Legislators pushed for the bill after Charlotte passed an ordinance allowing transgender people to use restrooms according to gender identity.

A Republican-controlled General Assembly voted on Wednesday to invalidate the ordinance.

The governor, who signed the bill, called it a matter of "basic privacy".

Governor Patrick McCrory said in a release that "the basic expectation of privacy in the most personal of settings" was violated by "government overreach and intrusion" by Charlotte's city council.

Lawmakers several other US states have proposed similar legislation - sometimes referred to as "bathroom bills". A Houston anti-discrimination ordinance that offered protections for gay and transgender people was overturned by voters in November.

Democrats in North Carolina's Senate walked off their chamber floor in protest as the bill was being debated. It later passed 82-26.

Republican leaders booked the one-day session for $42,000 (£30,000) because the ordinance was set to take place on 1 April.

It looks like the Panthers will be playing to empty seats next season. LOL! I smell a “boycott”.

Just to remind y’all how sick the Dumocrats really are. A good number here hate the GOP but they sure do the right thing on occasion...

Wow, here’s another state for liberals to boycott.

Liberals are getting ready to boycott Georgia because they are close to passing a religious freedom bill on the subject of homosexuality.

I assume they already boycott Indiana because that state passed such a law last year.

And in the wake of the Trayvon Martin case, liberals promised to boycott the numerous states which have stand your ground laws. The fact that the Trayvon case had nothing to do with stand your ground laws didn’t matter. Liberals decided it should have had something to do with it. Some entertainers such as Stevie Wonder promised to avoid stand your ground states.

Do liberals have a comprehensive list of places they are supposed to avoid and the reason why these places offend liberal sensibilities????

Let ‘em boycott. You know if every state just started exercising common sense these people would have to sit down and shut up, because there would not be a place for them to leverage against other places.

All talk. Nobody has left Indian yet.

But it might hurt Pence because many Republicans didn't like how he tried to walk it back

You’re quite right. “Corporate America” and its morally rotted leadership is going to be quite unhappy with NC for not keeping their ladies’ restrooms open and accessible to all the perverts, molesters and rapists to skulk around and prey on innocent victims.

At this point, if those “Occupy Wall Street” dingbats ever come back and start firebombing corporate offices, frankly, I’m going to be cheering them on! I’ve had my fill of these big-business bastards and both their promotion of open-borders amnesty and the sick, anti-Christian agenda of the homo-fascists.

“North Carolina revokes transgender and gay protections”

No, more like NC reinstates protection for 99% of the people.

I think it’s funny how women understandably don’t want men in their rest room, but women fought for the “right” to invade men’s locker rooms in sports. I find it hypocritical.

Funny that it’s always the MTFs (deranged men pretending to be women) wanting to go into ladies rooms.
FTMs (girls pretending to be boys) demanding to be allowed access to urinals? Not so much.
There’s a reason for this. FTMs are less likely to get surgery and more likely to revert to just being lesbians. IOW lesbians KNOW they are really women and don’t want to risk being RAPED in the men’s room.

Business people know they are being set up for valid lawsuits should a woman be raped on their premises as a result of compliance, as well as orchestrated law fare from the tranny activists for failure to comply. It’s a no win situation for business owners, and they’re screaming about it.
And state lawmakers’ inner “duh!” is finally beginning to kick in.

If female reporters are permitted in men's locker rooms, then male reporters should be allowed in women's locker rooms. Even if female athletes are changing their clothes.

Yes, it is hypocritical. Women with questionable morals fought for the “right”. I am a woman and I thought it was appallingly undignified to demand such an invasion of privacy. Modesty is still a virtue in my world.

I also knew that it wouldn’t be long before the same moral outrage was demanded of us. What goes around, comes around. Most of us ladies didn’t pick the fight to start with, but we are going to pay a heavy price, nonetheless, because of our idiot feminist sisters.
