Simpler than that: Either you support/defend the Constitution (inalienable Rights) or you don’t. It means what it says or it’s merely words on parchment.
There is no if/and/or/but.
There is no ‘trust’ required, nor needed between the People; govt, though, should NEVER be trusted more than minimally necessary (having the power/authority to take EVERYTHING you have/are, let alone Life).
Open carry at the Convention will certainly deter the Democrats from showing up. They’re afraid of guns so this would be like putting out garlic to ward off vampires!
We already know the Left is going to be there protesting in large numbers and are looking to be violent.
The convention goers ought to be able to defend themselves around the convention site. They have to come and go from their hotels and such.
But I’ll bet the PTB nix the idea because they’re ascared of the media
*sigh* I am NOT a concern troll.
You are right, CCW holders ARE more law-abiding than your average citizen. And I f**king HATE everything Alinsky stood for.
I wouldn’t stand in the way (not that I could do anything about anyway) if they decide to do this. I’m not going to try to argue. Just stating an opinion, ‘k?
They don’t even make a decision at that “deep” a level. At that point in time, if they have waited that long, it’s “who do you like” and “who’ll give me more stuff.”
Personally, I always carry, but would never open carry.
The first time I want the felonious perp to learn I am carrying is when the first of two rounds of 180 grains of copper coated lead begins to expand inside his body cavity.
PS, totally agree re: streets. Outside my home, I am at Orange everywhere now.
>>They dont even make a decision at that deep a level.
That’s why I said “the R or the D” instead of spelling out the names of each party. They really don’t think much deeper than the first letter of a word or beyond a promise..
Nobody ever has anything to fear from a law-abiding gun owner. Of course they should be allowed to carry. The Second Amendment guarantees a virtually unlimited right to own and carry firearms. Beyond that, making the floor of the convention into a “gun-free zone” would be horrendously dangerous for all involved. I certainly would not feel safe there without my Glock.
