The way the story is phrased (“reports say”, “claimed an insider”) is distancing the magazine from the charges, which is quite different from its presentation of the Hart and Edwards scandals.

It’s not the truth of the charge, it is the seriousness of the charge that counts.
Why not wait till someone comes out with proof before you push this story so hard?

Good grief, there is no level of filth that Trumpsters will not sink too.
I know how bad cult of personalities can be, but seeing these Trumpanzees rip apart the American right of center this cycle might go down as one of the lowest points I've ever seen. There is literally nothing their leader "the Donald" can say or do to dissuade them. Trump lemmmings will throw all principle, honor, decency, etc, to the side to dutifully line up behind their leader.
And you know what the worst part of all this is. Assuming Trump does get the nomination and predictably goes on to lose in landslide to Hillary, they still won't accept that they were conned and turned into useful idiots. They'll just blame whoever Trump blames for his loss. The only upside for ideological conservatives who oppose this populist, protectionism Trump spews is that he hates losing and when he gets clobbered in November no movement will be built around him because he doesn't have the patience to lead one. That should drive this populist, protectionist garbage out of the party for a generation or two.
OTOH, Trump writes in his books about cheating oh his wives.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s a sad development that people on the conservative side of the political spectrum could be so tightly enmeshed emotionally with a candidate they lose all connection with reality. One would expect that with liberals.
