NY Daily News ^ | March 25, 2016 | Dareh Gregorian

The National Enquirer on Friday reported that Ted Cruz has had multiple trysts with women who aren't the one he described as "the love of my life," wife Heidi Cruz.

"It is garbage, complete & utter lies. It is a tabloid smear and it has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen," the Texas senator told reporters on Friday
.
.
.
Another alleged "mistress," former Cruz communications director Amanda Carpenter, was asked about the report on CNN.

"Talk to my lawyer," she said.

Story is Ben Shales at GQ sales said ad was ordered by Jeff Roe.

The "story is"?

That's a pretty flimsy citation.

Please link to a real source.

I would think Cruz's people have had some sort of contingency plan waiting

Bush 2.0 is the contingency plan. Everyone knew about this months ago. That's why Ted is the GOPe stalking horse. He was the face of #NeverTrump; he's done his job helping label Trump as a basement dweller so that a pristine "conservative candidate" can arise from the ashes.

U said that Cruz had nothing to do with the Mrs. Trump ad. It’s obvious she is highly invested in your bedroom Boi.

LOL. When you can make some kind of coherent legitimate point, please give me a ping. Thanks.

Where did I say he was involved? My original statemment stands.

What??? The Melania pic. had Vote Cruz written on it. He could have publicly told that pac to remove his name because that is not how his campaign conducts business......But, he didn’t.

If you were running for the school board, and some well meaning neighbor decided to run an ad with a pic of your opponents nude wife that said Vote ConservingFreedom, what would be your natural response?

I spent a good deal of time yesterday trying to get a linkable quote besides twitter repeats of the information. I came up blank so far. Doesn’t mean that it is a false statement, but doesn’t yet mean that it is true.

Yup, I wasted a little time too and couldn't find it.

Folks need to document their own claims.

It should be a red flag when they don't.

Trump aide fulfills threat to ‘spill the beans’ on Heidi Cruz

Spilling the beans is quite simple when it comes to Heidi Cruz,” Pierson said in an interview with MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki.
“She is a Bush operative; she worked for the architect of NAFTA, which has killed millions of jobs in this country; she was a member on the Council on Foreign Relations who — in Sen. Cruz’s own words, called a nest of snakes that seeks to undermine national sovereignty; and she’s been working for Goldman Sachs, the same global bank that Ted Cruz left off of his financial disclosure,” Pierson said.

“Her entire career has been spent working against everything Ted Cruz says that he stands for,” she added.

Where did I say he was involved?

In post #77 you appeared to challenge my statement that "Trump should not have said Cruz was involved with the Melania pic." If we agree that Cruz wasn't involved, we have no dispute between us.

Or you could read the whole excerpt:

“Carpenter forcefully denied the claim, with understandable dismay at being accused of an affair on live national television. “What’s out there is tabloid trash. If someone wants to comment on it, they can talk to my lawyer. It is categorically false. You should be ashamed for spreading this kind of smut. Donald Trump supporters should be held to account for it,” she said.”

There is actually evidence on twitter that the Rubio campaign was pushing this story earlier. Do you have evidence otherwise? I would like to see it.

So by that logic the picture thing must be Cruz because Jeff Roe is a well known political hack, right?

Cognitive dissonance much?

“Trump is as presidential as Pee Wee Herman.”

And both have a close association with a Pecker.

Anyone who has a clue knows it’s against the law for PAC’s to have any association or communication to any campaign. But you keep on following the bouncing ball.

There you go Bedroom Boi.

Donald J. Trump

Just now · ..

I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it.

Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.

I look forward to spending the week in Wisconsin, winning the Republican nomination and ultimately the Presidency in order to Make America Great Again.

- Donald J. Trump

The National Inquirer loves Trump, as much as they loved Obama in 2008 when they went after Palin. This is more than just a passing affection for a liberal who can give them years of trashy headlines. In this case, it is personal.  Donald Trump and National Inquirer CEO David Pecker have been close friends for years. As noted in New York Magazine.http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/10/trumps-alliance-with-the-national-enquirer.html ;

Quote

Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. “They’re very close,” said a source close to the Enquirer. In July 2013, Trump even tweeted that Pecker should become CEO of Time magazine, which at the time was being spun off from its corporate parent, Time Warner. “He’d make it exciting and win awards!”

This isn’t the first time that the National Inquirer attempted to help Trump. In October, the Inquirer went after Trump’s then main opponent, Ben Carson:

Quote

...the Enquirer published a cover story on Carson headlined “Bungling Surgeon Ben Carson Left Sponge in Patient’s Brain!” The article called Carson a “White House wannabe” and claimed he “brandished a scalpel like a meat cleaver!” It went on to quote angry former patients saying he botched surgeries that left them disfigured and in pain; one patient who sued Carson said he forgot to remove a surgical sponge from her brain after a procedure. “His presidential campaign should be dead on arrival!” Enquirer reporter Sharon Churcher wrote.

The Inquirer even placed the source of the Carson attack directly at the Trump Campaign.

Quote

This person also said that Trump’s campaign was a source for the article: “His campaign provided information that was used,” he explained. A Trump friend said that in the days leading up to the article’s publication Trump was telling people that Carson “had a lot of medical malpractice suits” and “almost killed a guy.”

But before you think this is just the National Inquirer looking for tabloid trash to boost ratings, consider that just a few weeks ago, they took valuable space in their magazine to write a glowing, groveling endorsement of Trump.  The National Enquirer Declares, Trump Must Be President the article started.

You can read the whole endorsement here:
