Because it wasn’t him that made the ad. It was an anti-Trump PAC that was behind it. They aren’t for Cruz, they’re against Trump.
But he does need to sharply distance himself from said PAC if he wants this to go away.

If this is true why is Cruz using a double standard and blaming Trump for the National Enquirer story when Trump has no control over the National Enquirer.
