BTW, the only way for a person with NPD to heal is to admit they have a problem. It has the lowest rate of therapy success of all the mental issues in the field since they will NEVER admit to having it.
My take is that Cruz is at the level, similar to Obama, at which saying a thing makes it true. For instance, if Obama says his administration has been the most transparent in history, this becomes a fact in his mind. Evidence may prove the opposite, but for Obama truth remains whatever he says it is.
Take Cruz. He says he’s never supported legalization. He put out a tweet to his own followers advocating mass legalization. But for Cruz, since he NOW says he never favored legalization, that has become objective truth.
Iow, narcissism to the degree that disconnects from reality. I’d call that a high level.
