Will the Next President Be Too Damaged to Govern?

Liar. Con artist. Lunatic. Misogynist. Bigot. Maniac.

These are some of the names presidential candidates have called one another this year. And these are just the names Republicans have called Republicans. Wait until this fall, when you hear what Democrats call Republicans and vice versa.

What’s new is the universality of attack politics and the proliferation of attackers::party committees, media commentators and super PACs.

Attacks are no longer meant to just take votes from the opposition; they’re increasingly aimed at destroying their legitimacy and credibility. Worst for the country, they’re also meant to impair their ability to govern should they win.

It’s time to take stock of how our political system is operating and to ponder a deadly serious question: Will the next president be so badly damaged after the election that he won’t be able to govern?

What’s amazing is that we’re only in March. The general election is still more than seven months away. The winner will be the one who crawls across the finish line first — debased and exhausted.

How a new president is supposed to lead the nation after all this, heaven only knows.

“Will the Next President Be Too Damaged to Govern?”

Naa, she will do fine.

Now the other side has managed to damage each other bad enough to prevent either winning.
Way to go, Republidiots.

Well, they can always impeach him.

Well said.

Cruz is a good man, but will never get anything done. The senate won’t allow it. They hate him that much, and Ted has no bully pulpit—nothing to back it up. The media won’t be on his side, that’s for sure. Stalemate. The senate will destroy him and stab him every chance they get.

Trump has a bully pulpit and puts true fear into them. If Trump wants Mitch out (for example), he can arrange it. Spend $100,000,000 to primary Mitch—he can do that, and they all know it. Trump IS the kind of person who not only can, but would, do that. And the Senate doesn’t hate Trump like they do Ted.

Plain and simple—Trump has the carrot and stick to actually change the country in a positive way. Cruz doesn’t.

That was fun. It's the conviction that's tough. Uni-party loyalty and all.

So The Donald can buy the government he wants, and that’s supposed to be a good thing?

Spoken like a true snowflake.

Trump is going to dance across the finish line laughing, in a landslide.

While all the snowflakes finally shut the hell up and go wash their piss-stained pants.
