Nine people have been charged with murder after a row between two high school girls over 'a boy and some racy photos' led to the death of a teenager.
Demajhay Bell, 18, was stabbed in the neck by a friend during a chaotic street brawl at the house of one of the feuding girls in Hephzibah, South Augusta.
The teenager, who stayed inside for most of the fighting, was wounded in the deadly melee which featured a 50-strong mob wielding baseball bats, knives and pipes last Friday. He died in hospital two days later.

Friends and relatives of each girl joined in and soon there were two groups with up to 50 people threatening to settle the dispute in the streets, according to Eyvette Byrd, 39 - the mother of one of the feuding girls who is 15.
She is also the mother of 21-year-old Demetrius Harris Jr, who stabbed Demajhay. Both have been charged with aggrieved assault and felony murder.
The mob showed up at the home at around 1.45pm and fighting spilled onto the street. It was captured on video and later posted on Youtube.

If you close your eyes, with just a bit of imagination you might think you’re witnessing a bunch of hyenas fighting in Africa.
I agree. There have not yet been crowds of that size or obvious weapons on display in regard to the redneck reality show people across the street from me. However, there were ambulances a couple of nights this week. Someone may have died.

I actually thought it might be South Africa, due to the neighborhood name. But, the names of the assailants and victims sounded more like the US. Hence, the question. I really wasn’t sure.

So long as they’re containing themselves to their own house or yard, it’s a nuisance. If it ever breaks out of the yard and into the street or beyond, it’s a problem.
I don’t think there’s a neighborhood in South Africa that looks that good any more, especially not with people like that running amok.
It sounds realist... and rational.
It’s in the street fairly often, but the numbers are usually 10 or fewer, and while there’s much evidence of alcohol and some of drugs, there haven’t been any weapons in sight (other than the 4th of July, when my own offspring were also involved with some exploits involving explosives).
