They have the baby’s DNA ... it is only a matter of time. “The Millstones of Justice turn exceedingly slow, but grind exceedingly fine.”

Good grief. Washington has a safe haven law where newborns up to three days can be left with hospital, ER, or fire rescue personnel...no questions asked. Did these breeders not realize there are married couples out there willing to give their right arms for a child to adopt? I just do not understand people now. I just don’t.

I suspect that the parents want privacy. They risk being publicly identified if they carry the baby into a building that has security cameras everywhere.

They now face a whole lot more “risk” since they were too damned stupid and evil...

Sure, but the primary goal is to save the child, not to punish the parents. From what I have read, the baby drop-off programs are almost never used. I think that small local churches might be better drop-off locations than the usual suggested public buildings. Also, an 800 number might be useful, but I haven't really thought this out.

If I recall correctly, the baby drop-off programs are intended/supposed to be non-punitive...an amnesty of sorts in order to save the child.

Churches aren’t always manned like fire or police stations.

But you’re correct in the goal...I guess it all boils down to the desensitization of society towards valuing human life.

Hopefully the mother will be sterilized before entering prison.

What a miracle this child was found... and hopefully never learns how his life began. That will be lot a baggage.

"Intended/supposed" provides insufficient comfort to the parent who knows that video cameras will capture him or her when the baby is dropped off. The video will probably be seen by many people. Will one of those people recognize the parent? Will pictures of the parent appear in the local newspaper or on the Internet?

Churches aren’t always manned like fire or police stations.

24/7 service is probably not critically important to the parents. They are probably more interested in minimizing the risks to their own lives. An ideal drop-off program would look completely risk-free.
