Ted Cruz dodges question about whether he's 'always been faithful' to his wife ...

Ted Cruz dodges question about whether he's 'always been faithful' to his wife as endorser Carly Fiorina leaps in to insist a declaration that he's not an adulterer is a 'dance to Donald trump's tune'

Texas senator could put National Enquirer scandal to rest with a simple statement that he has never strayed in his 14-year marriage

Instead he has batted down the supermarket tabloid's speculative story about five alleged affairs in a more limited fashion

Carly Fiorina leaped in to intercept DailyMail.com's request for a blanket statement of marital fidelity and Cruz ultimately punted on the question

Fiorina pleaded for a return to discussing issues, but lobbed her own accusation at 'serial adulterer' Donald Trump

Cruz also challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate in Wisconsin on Tuesday night: 'Why don't you show up and debate like a man?'

Ted Cruz declined to answer a question on Monday about whether he has ever been unfaithful to his wife Heidi.

'Senator Cruz,' DailyMail.com asked him, 'can you please swat down more definitively this National Enquirer piece by telling us on the record that you've never been unfaithful to your wife?'

The National Enquirer published a story last Wednesday that speculated about five women with whom the Republican presidential candidate was rumored to have had extramarital affairs.

Cruz has batted down the specifics of the story on numerous occasions since it appeared in supermarket checkout lanes.

But instead of making a blanket declaration that he has been faithful during the entirety of his 14-year marriage – a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle – Cruz stood silently as campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina leapt in to intercept the question and change the subject.

Trump admitted his infidelities and also has never strapped on the armor of God while running his campaign. Ted’s a hypocrite. I love when the holier than thou crowd gets what’s coming to them. God is personal to everyone and those that talk about how much better or religious they are than everyone else are the first ones we should be suspicious of.

I have come to the conclusion that Cruz is not a Christian at all. It was all a ploy for him to dupe Evangelicals to vote for him, but also a smoke screen in an attempt to keep the truth about his double life a secret. Essentially, Cruz used and abused the name of Christ to advance himself politically and to hide his sins.

I believe there’s around a 3 year statute of limitations on libel FROM THE DATE OF THE PUBLIC DISCLOSURE of the alleged acts. If the allegations are FALSE, where’s the lawsuit?

Cruz, legal scholar extraordinaire, could probably dash it off longhand between campaign stops and have a lawyer supporter in NY file it for him. A few alleged psychologists trained in the area have claimed on line that Cruz is lying that the story is “garbage”.

Inasmuch as truth is a positive defense, once Cruz takes that step, all Trump and the owner of the publication need do is get one or more of the “ladies” under oath in court to swear to the truth of the claims and provide details of and evidence re. the encounters. I seriously doubt said “ladies” would risk perjury charges and jail for Ted (or for Trump and the other defendants for that matter if they tried to buy their perjured testimony).

The situation has become more problematic for Cruz as one of the “ladies” (whose name escapes me at the moment) HAS SCRUBBED HER INTERNET ACCOUNTS OF ALL HER EXCHANGES WITH CRUZ. The BIGGER problem is that many of those exchanges have already been captured by third parties.

If any of this IS true, except for the Christians Cruz has convinced of his righteousness, nobody else much cares about his dalliances. What many MAY care about — as Bill Clinton knows — is Cruz LYING ABOUT and TRYING TO COVER IT UP!

Could be nothing. Then again, could be another case of “...feet of clay”. It’s sure happened before.

Will they also ask if Heidi’s always been faithful to Ted?

No, she’s not running for POTUS, but as the spouse she has the potential to have considerable influence on her husband, even in the White House.

Also, every key person in any major corporation will have their spouse also interviewed, maybe more than once, before a decision is made on hiring. Reason being is the same: the spouse and situation at home matters tremendously to the going concern.

It is the same, if not moreso, with the Chief Executive and Commander in Chief of the USA.

I guess one way to ensure the press doesn’t ask any difficult questions is to make them have to look at Carly Fiorina every time they want to get an answer.

Trump doesn’t sell himself as a God getting Christian! Adultery is a sin and he knows it.

Pray America wakes

As far as I’m aware, he was unfaithful to his 1st wife with the 2nd wife. Left 2nd wife before pursuing 3rd wife. So as far as I’m aware, he only cheated once.

1st wife has endorsed Trump for president, so they’re in good terms

I do not want a man occupying the office President who has ever even *thought* about sexual relations outside the bonds of marriage.

Then Trump needs to withdraw.

Good point ...most people don’t care , but blaming Trump for it is where the problem lies ...Trump has nothing to do with this mess ..it’s merely a tool to trash Trump at this point , hence why the Cruz camp won’t let it go

I heard Cruz issue his challenge. I think the stress is getting to him.

I can’t post images because I don’t know how, but there is one picture in the article of Heidi looking terrible, just worn down. It reminded me of Dina McGrreevey here in NJ when Jim came out as a Gay American...

No. And I also don’t think he’s tried to ever put the image out there he hasn’t, given his already known past.

Why are we even discussing this?

Because Rafael claimed to be the 2nd coming. At least Clinton has always been a perv.

Has Donald Trump always been faithful to his wives?

Donald Trump wasn't in office nor did he pretend to be an altar boy.

God's not running, so you're just going to have to suck it up and pick the lesser of evils.

That’s a Cruz response... deflecting. Of course we know he hasn’t... and? He’s not running as the God candidate either.

Cruz screwed up...by dragging Trump into this. He should have simply stood up against the NE article. I’m sure his campaign was well aware the story was being shopped around by the Rubio campaign months ago. By mentioning the Donald, he played into the media narrative... so of course they’re going to ask him directly now, and keep this going because it’s a ratings draw. Dumb.

He could also have ended the speculation by stating he had never cheated on his wife. But he didn’t.
