“Trump seems to be trying to alienate as many potential voters as possible. Why would he do that?”
I briefly entertained the idea he was a plant, designed to lose.
I’ve since come around to believe that he is emotionally stunted and basically a 12 year old on the playground, and acts accordingly.
Well, he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he seems to think he can do or say whatever he pleases with no consequence, and that he is entitled to the GOP nomination even if he fails to reach a majority of delegates. There is something seriously off about Trump’s campaign, IMO. No mature, serious person conducts themselves the way Trump has/is. Maybe he really is just this much of a petulant jerk. Ijust hope that my choices in November are not Trump and Hillary. The thought of it makes me sick. I’ve tried to warm to Trump, but then he goes and does something again that reinforces the reasons why I absolutely cannot stand him.
When Trump first announced his candidacy, I told my husband that he was a plant to get Hillary the presidency. I moved away from that for a short time, I now believe again that my instinct was correct.
He has no one in his circle of friends and family with the ability to say "no" to him. Often that's the curse of a rich person, or one with exceptional genius.
He can't help himself, he only knows one response to those who disagree with him: scorched earth. IMO, if he really wanted the nomination, he'd be shoring up support with those he defeated. About the only one who has taken him up has been Carson.
Those two ideas aren’t really mutually exclusive.
