I did my best to understand Donald Trump's foreign policy. Here's what I came up with.
Vox ^ | 3/28 | Max Fisher

Trump's foreign policy often gets discussed as isolationist for its skepticism of allies and foreign entanglements, or as realist for its obsession with self-interest and with cold cost-benefit. In either case, the theory is meant to explain why Trump so disdains virtually every facet of America's international role, from its alliance networks to its foreign military bases and security guarantees.

But the more you hear from Trump, the clearer it becomes that something else is going on: He either does not believe in or simply does not understand the international order that has governed the world since the end of World War II.

This comes through in Trump's declaration that postwar alliance systems such as NATO are "obsolete."

This is an EXCELLENT analysis of why Trump is so hated and feared by the oligarchs. Sadly, because the situation we face is so dire and complex, Mr. Hultberg’s essay is probably longer than the ability of many short attention span Americans will tolerate.  For them, I’ve extracted below what struck me as the three “take away” paragraphs.

Please read the entire piece and share it as widely as possible!  As I’ve commented before, this is almost certainly our  LAST CHANCE to turn the corner back toward something akin to that which the Founders ATTEMPTED to leave us.

“Throughout his adult life Trump has watched as most of the business and political leaders he dealt with have sold their souls to the World Government vision of oligarchs like George Soros. He has observed how our slimy Demopublican politicians and bankers have sold out the interests of the American people via trade deals that sixth-graders would realize are toxic for jobs and prosperity if they were explained at that level of schooling.”

“This has horrified Trump, this grotesque sellout of the America he loves, the America that gave him so much freedom, so much opportunity. Being the bodacious man of action that he is, he could not sit by and watch elites like George Soros, David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Lloyd Blankfein, and Robert Rubin push for tax and trade policies that undercut the productive might of America in submission to a globalist, anti-nation-state vision for the world.”

“Their goal has been to make the world into a giant social welfare state akin to Sweden, but first in sections on a regional basis – like Orwell’s three regional governments of Oceania, Eurasia and East Asia. All the important decisions of governance will be mandated from world institutions such as the United Nations, the IMF, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, etc. And eventually an organized central governing body, complete with military and police drawn from all nations, will evolve into transcendent power. In essence it will be a world-wide form of Mussolini’s economic fascism.”

Cruz has said, go in, destroy the enemy and get out. No nation building. Works for me.

Not when it comes to Trump it ain’t.

I’m sorry, but someone who puts their name in giant brass letters on skyscrapers has no defense against charges of narcissism.

"Trump’s answer was not stupid at all."

If you don't see Trump's naiveté and stupidity in not even knowing that American firms cannot sell Iran military equipment, then you are a hopeless cause. Quite frankly, I don't want our firms to be selling them planes and tanks. No one here argues with the fact that the Iran deal was a bad one. That's not a novel position. A lot of candidates have said that.

Curly? Name calling from a Trump supporter- yet again. LOL!

Trump is incoherent and cannot complete a sentence unless he reads it from a paper or teleprompter. This reveals the disordered mess between his ears- or what you call brains.

The question is why and the answer is narcissism.

I liked what Trump had to say early on. Nationalism...love it. After a period of time, he’z left me scratching my head in bewilderment. I've made a point to live stream his gatherings, one on ones, media interviews and such.

Trump's just left me wanting for depth and substance. All I hear from him is the same regurgitated sound bites. One liners, hot button comments.

The guyz concerning me. Is he not providing substance on important issues from ignorance? Is Trump not spelling out specifics for fear folks will then understand his true leanings? Does he feel he can win the oval office by revving up the crowds with cutesy one liners?

does not understand the international order that has governed the world since the end of World War II.

Like they've done such an awesome job.

In Trump's view -- which is the view of every sentient being I've heard the last 3 decades -- the USA carries too much of the financial and troop burden of the NATO alliance. If we went back to the Bosnia/Kosovo goatrope of our past presidents, we'd discover countless articles on the subject in which very bright men and women pontificated on Europe's lack of real involvement in what was their issue.

Now Trump says it, and suddenly, even though it's glaringly obvious, idiots in both parties want to attempt to pull the wool over America's eyes, because we're just too damn stupid to catch that NATO is not a shining city on a hill, and that they've been badmouthing the unseemly abdication of real involvement on the part who are closest to the difficult parts of the world.

Instead, the idiots let their enemies into their countries by the millions.

I would be worse than Trump. Looking at the 'refugee love' I'd tell them they were on their own until they came to their senses.

By that logic, Marriott, Hilton and Disney must’ve been ‘uge narcissists as well.

Where was “military” mentioned anywhere is the question that was asked?

With that question anyone would think we can’t sell them anything.

I think his foreign policy is to get elected, see if he can insult his way to a better situation, and if not, spread rumours about the mistresses of foreign leaders.

That’s only going to make Putin even more popular.

“Curly? Name calling from a Trump supporter- yet again. LOL!”

So this does not occur from Cruz people.

Simple question. Yes or no will do.

Thanks, Chgogal.

I hope that Cruz is just being political. If he thinks our current relationship with NATO is fine and dandy, then he hasn’t read anything on the subject for decades.

Cruz’s views are totally incompetent.
