Maybe Trump has taken up residency in Cruz’s head and Cruz can no longer think straight. How he’s lost track of his home state.
He thought it would be disrespectful to send the money back. You see, while Heidi has an email Bot spamming hourly for donations, Trump has raised very little through his indirect methods.

1. Protect the States from invasion? FAIL! in fact they facilitate it.
2. Pay the debts. FAIL! In fact they only service the interest. Repaying the debt is not possible when every dollar is borrowed into existence.
3. Regulate Commerce? Success! They have almost destroyed American commerce through insane Overregulation and hugely aided foreign commerce
