A proposed law that finds aborting women guilty of homicide, is guaranteed neither passable nor enforceable.
In practical fact, pre-Roe vs Wade, prosecutions of abortionists were usually triggered by the appearance of an injured abortion client in the ER. Her testimony was usually the key to obtaining a conviction.
I don't think any abortionist will ever be convicted --- ever --- if the woman is not seen, in law and in practice, as a co-victim rather than a perp.
Trump never defined what the punishment would be. While personally I believe anyone who willingly gets an abortion should be charged with Murder, I am also realistic to the fact that will not pass. They however should still receive punishment for their act.
Another “The woman is a victim” pro-abort heard from.
It’s rather amusing that you look to 19th century laws and standards to hold to that view. But whatever you feel is necessary in downplaying the moral crime of abortion is your problem. Not mine.
Antonius said upthread there are mitigating circumstances in which the woman is a victim.
And when I asked if he would follow the logical sequence and list the “mitigating circumstances” in which abortion is OK, he declined.
You can’t have it both ways. If a woman is allowed a free pass to have an abortion, then what other allowances are we to make in allowing these murders of our unborn?
Shame on you and Mr don-o.
Of course it’s a dishonest gotcha question because the situation is not going to arise anytime soon, and because the president has no role in the such decisions.
When it comes to abortion, I believe Trump is sincerely, mostly pro-life, but he has himself said that it’s a matter that he has not thought about very much. And that is the truth.
