The problem of inability to read, and utilize proper grammar was a big problem even in the early 90’s.

I see it on the forums a lot when the language used for a person is a ‘’that’’ instead of a who, or whom.

Its visible when people don’t know the difference between hear and here, or They’re, Their, and There. Too, To and Two are real mind benders, aren’t they?

I thought all those things were signs of illiteracy, until I got a smartphone comma and found that the autocorrect was turning all sorts of correct words into incorrect words. And they slip through sometimes.

I hear they’re going to Two Brothers too. Their burgers are good there. Just don’t ask me the effect it will have on their waistline.

Seriously - I can never remember effect/affect! I think I did it correctly. But probably not :(

Funny though - my teenage kids could tell me. They are pretty good at that stuff. Take after their mom!

I am blessed that I found a Charter school in my area for my kids, quite a drive, but so worth it. My third grader is learning Latin now.

While “who” and “whom” are preferred, “that” is acceptable in identifying relative clauses.
