Gosh! How horrible! How terrible! He should be ashamed of himself and quit the race at once!
As for “Low Energy,” “Little Marco” and... yes, “Lyin’ Ted” - those nick-names wouldn’t have stuck if they didn’t have some basis in reality. For example, “Low Energy” wouldn’t have worked against Chris Christie, “Little John” wouldn’t have worked against Kasich, and “Lyin’ Ben Carson” would have sounded silly. The reason those names stick is because there’s some element of truth in them.
How about this: I will restrict myself to hard-hitting fact-based critiques or support of the candidates themselves and refrain from personal attacks on any other FReeper.
I don’t think this is any time to call a truce between Trump and Cruz supporters, because this matter has to be settled. I want one of them to win and thus I want the other to lose, and nothing is going to change that. We should all be called upon to forcefully advocate for our position and be willing to take the slings and arrows that will come our way.
But I agree with you that personal attacks on other FReepers have no place here. At the end of the day, we all have to pull together, and that will be much more difficult to do if we have been attacking one another personally. It is difficult enough if your guy loses without having personal insult piled on top.
