Exactly, Trump has plenty to loose, but nothing to gain (outside of setting this Republic back on its feet which does benefit him).
I agree, Trump is a grand old man with more than a little bit of the spirit of Reagan and Churchill. If he were 30 years younger, I might agree with the awful things that are being said about him, that he is doing this for a desire for power, greed, control, etc. But he is an old man, he has already had everything and done everything he wants to do; the spirit that motivates him is patriotism and love of country, and I suspect he really is a great humanitarian as well. He is not polished, sometimes when he speaks from the heart and gives a common sense answer, he gets himself into trouble, but so what. He sees much of what is wrong with this country, and he thinks he can fix some of it. I say let him try, the political establishment hacks of both parties have nearly destroyed this country, and if allowed to continue, they most certainly will do so. Also, these hacks are not moral people by any means, Trump is not any worse than the best of them, and much much better than the worst of them.
In any case, at this point, we have nothing to lose by bringing a new face and a new perspective to Washington.
To a narcissist, attention is the only reward they value.
