Why Should ‘Never Trump’ Mean Ted Cruz? (The Times prefers Kasich)
The New York Times ^ | April 1, 2016 | The Editorial Board

With more than half of the 2016 presidential primary races in the history books, Republicans desperate to deny Donald Trump their party’s nomination now say Wisconsin, where Ted Cruz is leading, will show that their effort has turned the tide. They shouldn’t start bragging yet.

At a televised Republican town hall on Tuesday, it was painful to watch farmers, students and a man whose son died of a drug overdose pose earnest questions to Mr. Trump and Mr. Cruz, who were more interested in attacking each other. Only John Kasich connected with these voters.

Despite its noble aim and big budget, “Never Trump” has become a panicky reaction in search of a strategy. In Wisconsin, “Never Trump” means “How About Cruz?” as self-interested leaders like Gov. Scott Walker try to sell Republicans on a dangerously reactionary senator as an improvement over a dangerously ignorant businessman. But for the state’s — and the nation’s — moderate conservatives, “Never Trump” should more logically mean “Maybe Kasich.”

The framework that Mitt Romney sketched for a “Never Trump” movement on March 3 rested on an analysis of delegate allocation rules in the remaining primary states....

No surprise that the Soros / Kasich ticket is to the NYTs’ liking.

Of course they want Kasich, all in the club. Kasich is a political prostitute, sold access to Lehman Bros. after Congress. Expanded Obamacare in Ohio, is pushing hard for TPP/Obamatrade, he’s an establishment dream. And establishment includes our corrupt media.

The only way kasich gets the nomination is for the GOPe to throw away the American voters and appoint Kasich as the nominee, similar to what a lot of third world countries do to get their leader...

This will be the end of the GOP and the beginning of grassroots America taking back the government by their anger at being ignored by the elitists in Washington...

I thought the Trumpets pooh-pooed those head-to-head polls? I’ve been told that at least six dozen times.

Folks, this is the chance of a lifetime to set the “establishment elites” in Washington on their heels and get real American interests back in Washington...This will be the only chance we get...if we don’t get Trump elected, we’ll never get this opportunity again....

By the criteria of polling strength against Clinton, Kasich is more qualified to be the nominee than Cruz.

You forgot to mention Clinton +10.6 on Trump in those same RCP averages.

Funny how when polls show positive news for one’s candidate they’re treated as if they’re gospel, and when they show the opposite they’re “meaningless” at best and “corrupt” at worst.
