Lotus Notes will always survive despite it being one of the worst software packages ever foisted on the world.

Ginni is sure ‘The Cloud’ will save IBM after she’s sold off everything and still lost money. The board still gave her a 6% raise and 19 million shares of stock after losing money for five or six quarters.

IBM is always laying off people, but it will never go away. This is because it outsources IT functions from other businesses, and the IT people go to IBM. Then a year or two later when the Indian IBM people have taken those potitions, the higher priced originals are canned.

I would never work for IBM except as a contractor. They have screwed over too many of their own people over the years to be trusted.

Eventually, though, the business discovers IBM is charging it high prices for low-quality people. IBM is paying them $60K and billing them to the customer at $200K.

The answer? Re-insource, or course. Consultants will be busy.

That’s a great name.

Notes is like the Daleks in Dr. Who, no matter what it survives somewhere somehow.

Perhaps “Google translate” could hire some of those laid off to make their “translation” remotely comprehensible?

Every single Indian IT project I have ever run across needed a total rewrite.
