Why should the GOPe care about what the Republican voters want?! -- they know better. Not to mention that they have been paid off and are in bed with the Dems for a Hillary presidency. Please see my link in my next post on this thread.

GOPe is in bed with the Democrats for a Hillary presidency.

I have said these same words a million times today. Now maybe because some Washington Post writer says it maybe it will be believed

The idea that delegates on the convention floor — people who are, by and large, quite conservative and are accurately described as the base of the party — would throw over not only the top delegate getter (Trump) but also the person who got the second most delegates (Cruz) is decidedly implausible given what we know about the state of the GOP today.

Kamikaze Voter

Every Democrat for every office in every election until there is no GOP

GOP-RIP

Chris Skeeza Cillizza doesn’t really understand “magical realism”.

It is a common literary style, especially in Latin American writing. It uses magic to explain unlikely, but occurring events, especially when those events go against socially expected actions, even though those events can be explained by usual, common facts.

In this case, magic would be used to explain a Trump victory over the GOPe in selecting him as the candidate.

Because this guy is an expert analyst. It is the job of these experts, whether Democrat or Republican, to put aside his own bias, and take as clinical and objective look at the other side as he can possibly manage. (Just as a judge should do when deciding a case.) This is one of those instances. This democrat expert set out to understand the mindset of the GOP convention delegates, and give an honest assessment, setting aside his own wishes, biases, opinions entirely out; indeed being very careful to make sure his bias does not distort his conclusions. He does his employer no favor if he does otherwise.

Some of the best analyses of republican politics I have ever read have been by democrats, and vice versa.

And I think this democrats expert’s conclusions could well be correct. That if the GOP establishment tries to manipulate the delegates, many of whom are the angry conservative base, into nominating an establishment hack, it could seriously back fire on the GOP establishment.
