These matters are discussed in public. We have allies. And if half of the people out there did a little research, they would realize that other countries do in fact, pay us quite well to continue to help guard their countries. I know it is more popular to believe that we ship people over to Japan and Korea and Germany for free. Hell, I’ve seen people post that we actually PAY those countries to allow us to be there.
And then we have a buffoon who knows absolutely nothing about the political system and our protection of said countries saying, “Have fun, folks”.... Because watching an ally of ours get nuked is sort of fun, isn’t it? Yep!
Lowest common denominator
Listen, if you don’t like the S.O.B. don’t vote for him.
A lot of times I don’t like him and I still may not vote for him.
But you don’t have to mount your little rocking horse to gallup in and tell us how much more you know about the situation than we mere footlings.
What sticks in my craw is all the old wise men pretending that only they can have a grasp on these lofty considerations and deeper meanings.
We’ve had them and people like you telling us how wisely things have been handled for 30 years now and look where you’ve got us. We were shocked when the wall came down. We were shocked when the WTC came down. We were shocked when there were no WMD in Iraq. We were shocked to find out how easy it was for a treacherous C.I.C. to set us back on our heels, perhaps for good.
So we are supposed to sit and pretend that if we don’t notice or speak of our peril, then there is no peril and we can continue tip-toeing right along. Like hell.
I would note that you tell us we have a globeful of unidentified valiant allies, then ten lines later you get to the truth of the matter and speak of “our protection of said countries.”
Forget about your inconsistency. Tell us all about our great allies these days and all the manifold ways they are helping us protect ourselves now...won’t you?
