I think we're beyond the "trial balloon" stage...Romney or Ryan...it's gonna get ugly.

It is impossible for Paul Ryan to be the nominee if the delegates vote to retain rule 40.
Any nominee or winner of the convention must have won 8 states in the most recent primary season.

Based on what I’ve read running Ryan will be next to impossible.

I’m hoping that Trump wins Ryan’s district today in WI, that would humiliate that little weasel.
Cruz is only doing the establishment’s dirty work for them. He knows it, and he also knows that he won’t be the nominee. I’m guessing that they’ve promised to pay off his campaign debt, and finance his re-election campaign in 2018.

Like his buddy Boehner, Ryan used the democrats to get the dirty deed done.
Plus, he hates veterans.

Rules are for little people.
To: skeeter
And the delegates can make it completely impossible by agreeing to keep rule 40.

Things that are just wrong
- Changing the rules after the primary contests have occurred
- Having delegates appointed by he party apparatus instead of through primary votes
- Stacking the delegates for a candidate with delegates that are not for that candidate
- Caucuses that are highly manipulated instead of primaries.

Not a chance even the GoPe is not that dumb, they’d lose the house and senate.
Don’t believe this nonsense, they are fully aware of how invested in Trump and Cruz 80% of their base voters are.
ALthough they might try to install Cruz as a losing candidate(he can’t win the general), just to keep the status quo.
Vote accordingly.
To: DannyTN
The rule is that the new rules get written at the convention mostly by the new delegates.
That is the basic rule. It isn’t changing.
But if you like the old rules, then you must like rule 40.
If you want to keep rule 40, then the Trump and Cruz delegates can insure that no one walks out of that convention with the nomination except one of the two of them.

Trump can beat both Kasich and Cruz out of the running. Globalist. Corporatists. Overwhelming immigration. Give away Constitution with trade deals, NAU, U of America.
Cruz and Kasich Insiders.
Grab the policy geeks. He already has the streets. Talk Culture of Life over and over. Make sure no mother abandonded by father will end up impoverished.

Ummm, Ryan ain't running.
And he's said that on many a talk show. Vehemently! With a laugh.
Setting up the "he resisted but reluctantly was forced into it by the delegates" farce. Just like how he refused to be Speaker and then relented to the "popular demand."
This is a poorly scripted play.
