NC Lt. Gov. responds to PayPal decision and HB2

NC Lt. Governor Dan Forest has issued a response to PayPal’s decision to not expand in Charlotte over HB2.

The expansion would have created 400 new jobs.

Corporations have expressed disappointment over the law and the NCAA vowed to monitor what North Carolina does next now that the state has banned any local government measures protecting people from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

“If our action in keeping men out of women’s bathrooms and showers protected the life of just one child or one woman from being molested or assaulted, then it was worth it. North Carolina will never put a price tag on the value of our children. They are precious and priceless. If a corporation wanting to do business in North Carolina does not see the worth of our children in the same light, then I wish them well as they do business somewhere else,” said Forest.

Selective outrage. Paypal has no problem having their Asia headquarters in Singapore, where homosexual sex is punishable by 2 years in prison. If they don’t worry about this, yet they worry that men aren’t allowed to use the women’s restroom in North Carolina, you can tell that this is done purely just to make headlines.

Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina!

Very proud of my governor and his lieutenant right now. Standing up for what is right will never go out of style! If you have the balls! Just heard from my ma that Mississippi just passed a law very much like our’s - we got the ball rolling!

NC legislature should consider a “pay-pal” tax. You want to run the state, maybe the state should run you.

NC should pass a law permanently banning Paypal from the state. Leave them no chance to change their mind.

And Maybe NC could start its own Paypal type service and open it to all. Fund the startup with state money.
