Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) on Tuesday shied away from throwing his support behind either Donald Trump or John Kasich, instead stressing his position on the third Republican running for president.
"I can tell you one thing: I would never vote for Ted Cruz," King, a former backer of Marco Rubio, said during an appearance Tuesday afternoon on CNN.
King has long criticized the Texas senator, including telling him in January to "go back under a rock" after the candidate questioned Trump's "New York values."
Cruz has since emerged as the top challenger to Trump and several former rivals, including Jeb Bush, have backed him, while Trump has picked up a handful of congressional endorsements.
A pair of New York Republicans, Reps. Tom Reed and Chris Collins, have endorsed Trump ahead of the state's April 19 primary. King said he'd wait to decide who he'd vote for there.
Many opponents of Trump have come together behind the #NeverTrump movement, spurring others to rally around an alternative #NeverCruz push as votes are cast Tuesday in Wisconsin.
Cruz is hoping to keep Trump below the 1,237 delegates needed for the nomination, forcing a contested convention this summer where Kasich is also eyeing a chance at the nomination.
While praising Kasich as showing perhaps "the most" regarding his qualifications, King hedged Tuesday, saying, "We have to see who has the best chance of winning, what's gonna happen."
and the establishment moves to another state with their establishment hacks to attack Trump and support cruz.
Typical establishment crap and some the establishment now. pathetic.
King trying to stay relevant. Won’t work.
A whole article devoted to the fact that a RINO will not vote for Ted Cruz. I’m shocked!
Funny, all the RINOS like jeb, Mitt, and lindsey are already back Cruz to the hilt. RINOS are Cruz’s entire support base.
They used the establishment hacks in FL, SC, WI and now they will use them in NY.
How proud those cruz supporters must be to have helped the party get their contested convention.
see post 6 please
FWIW, Peter King acts like he cares about fighting terror, but was a prominent supporter of the IRA.
Either that Pete or you could go back to giving weapons to Marxist Irish terrorists again.
Pete King is Exhibit 2 for what is wrong with the Republicsn party. (Exhibit 1 is McCain.)
Yeppers.
King of crony graft doesn’t like Cruz. That’s WAY better than an endorsement.

Of the ones I know personally, the socon component doesn't believe anything of the sort will happen because Ted is - for lack of a better term - the "anointed" one.
The ones who are true partei uber alles voters are fine with whatever ABT tactics come up, and if Ted is the right tool for that job, they'll use him.
Mr. niteowl77
Peter trying to be Schumer.
This is the strangest election cycle ever. The “establishment” supposedly hate Ted Cruz, “a DC Outsider” (ha) but are willing to use him (and he is perfectly willing to be used) to deny delegates to Trump, not to WIN or anything, just deny delegates to someone the “establishment” can’t stand. All so that the “establishment” can pick an “appropriate” candidate, who will lose to Hillary. Okayyyyyyyy......
And who do you think is the driving force behind the concerted effort to stop Trump? They need to stop Trump if they are to preserve their entrenched status as the GOPe - they can dispose of Cruz during the process of a contested convention.
And your response is : "and the establishment moves to another state with their establishment hacks to attack Trump and support cruz."
You are so fixated on Trump, you apparently don't feel it necessary to actually read the posts you are commenting on. Unless you process "I would never vote for Ted Cruz" as support.
LOL!
You are right about one thing, though, Peter King IS a hack politician.
I’m rather proud that my candidate knows how to gain support to get to 1237....nothing else matters!!!
Well this is a plus for Lying Ted.
lol And I would never vote for King. Pssst—don’t tell him—it might make him feel badly
