Yes, they will turn to Kasich with the intention of getting him the nomination in the convention.

There you go, thinking in simple terms again - if Cruz can't get a majority of delegates before the convention, then Trump will win the nomination, right? Wrong. All Cruz and Kasich need is about 250 delegates between the two of them to force an open convention. At that point, Cruz is by far the best positioned to win a contested convention.
