Will Trump Drop Out?
Wall Street Journal ^ | 04/06/2016 | James Taranto

Posted on 04/06/2016 11:02:36 AM PDT by Responsibility2nd

“[Donald] Trump’s second-place finish to Sen. Ted Cruz (Tex.) in Tuesday’s Wisconsin Republican primary may represent no ordinary setback,” write the Washington Post’s Karen Tumulty, Jose A. DelReal and Robert Costa. “It appears to be a pivot point—although it has yet to be seen whether the trajectory from here points downward or upward.”

~snip~

The last time he faced the prospect of venturing into hostile territory—when his rally in Chicago was overrun by left-wing disruptors—he ended up bugging out. If he fails to secure a majority of delegates, perhaps rather than endure defeat in Cleveland he will find a way to withdraw ungraciously before the convention.

Equally absurd to the calls for Cruz to drop out. Or Kasich for that matter.

Well if you keep it up, you are going to find yourself running “along to play” when you are told that your account has been suspended.

So I suggest taking it down a notch.

Hit Report Abuse on me? Went crying to the mods?

Feel free. I’m not being insulting here. If you can’t take the back and forth of mature political discussions, then leave.

His “interviews” on substantive matters are a joke.

No candidate, on either side, ever talks on substantive issues in any detail. Quite frankly, if they did the viewers' eyes would glaze over and they wouldn't have a clue as to what's being said.

Candidates can only keep voters' short-attention spans engaged with broad strokes, high level points. In Trump's case those points include things like "vetting refugees flooding in from Muslim countries", "building a wall on the southern border", "repealing Obamacare and taking steps to fix the health insurance situation", "fixing trade deals to help American companies", "reversing course on being so P.C. that we can't function", and so on. See his site for detailed discussions.

Hillary simply rattles off poll-tested talking points, and has no real plans. Cruz isn't much better in that regard... he won't stop illegals, he won't dare prevent Muslim terrorists from flooding in, and changes to Obamacare will be in favor of his big donors in the industry, etc.

Yes let him drop out so Hitlery can win because if anyone thinks Cruz can beat her I have a bridge I can sell you. I already made a bet for $5000 bucks with a friend of mine that said if they nominate ANYONE other than Trump, Hillary will win, that’s how sure I am. If Trump IS nominated and loses I lose $5000, if he wins I win the $5000. EASY MONEY.

Yeah, Trump saying that the RNC shouldn’t permit Kasich to continue running was kind of a joke. They don’t even have the power to forbid it legally.

“Go Donald Trump! Go Ted Cruz! Defeat Hillary Clinton!”

Trump cannot beat Hillary. Regardless of anyone’s admiration of him, she will beat him and turn us into Venezuela North. Go Ted.

Because he never wanted to be president. He has squeezed the attention he can get out of it.

When Cruz gets clobbered in a state (about 30 times) its a win for the Canadian. When Trump gets clobbered...its over for him!

Apparently, Sanders has no idea how he will break up the banks, claims 10,000 innocent Arabs in Gaza have been kill by Israel without any factual basis he can cite to, and has no idea what Israel should do differently.

Trump’s problem is that his positions are all over the chart. Abortion is a classic example.

I think Hillary has to be favored to beat any GOP candidate. If Trump is a sure loser, then Ted will be giving his concession speech around 11:50pm election night. It won’t be close.

The GOPe, their media (temporary) allies, the rosey Cruzians, and the Mailman are trying ever so hard to spin up a meme on scant evidence.

That and Cruz isn’t dealing with hard hitting interview questions on abortion. For some reason the media isn’t attacking him, except for the NE which was ignored by the MSM.
