It would seem unlikely that China would have invaded the US or even Russia. They both were going through internal turmoil at the time.

We have a Socialist and a Communist running for President as Democrats, and we WON the cold war. Imagine if we had lost it. Korea, Vietnam, and a hundred other places/battles were all part of it. The Soviets were happy to destabilize the world even in places they couldn’t “win” at first, all the while keeping their eyes on the prize.
