Basically we have two clubs. The Republican club and the Democrat club. The Democrats anointed Hillary to be the nominee this time around. Bernie is upsetting their plans but not bad enough so that Hillary will not be the nominee.
The Republicans anointed Jeb Bush to be the nominee. The problem is that Donald Trump came along and messed up those plans. Being that Donald is an outsider who never held office and not beholding to anyone would not work. So the Republican club went down the list with Cruz being last on the list to knock out Donald and cut a deal.
So Cruz has inherited the Republican Club donors and the machine. This is quite evident in with the delegates. With the help of the Republican club there is a lot of delegate manipulation in favor of Cruz. The Republican club will go to any length to see that Trump is not their nominee.
Bingo. And Cruz will be owned forever. Or forever forgotten. Either way he will have his mouth taped shut.
What if Trump cut a deal with Bernie to both agree to go Independent at the same time so that it’s a 4-way race. Trump would win.
Of course if only one side runs as Independent, then they split their party (a la Ross Perot) and the opposition always wins.
So a 4-way race would be kind of cool.
Question: Can you have more than one “Independent” candidate?
