The SFT need to slap back twice as hard and twice as long. Simply single out one or two of the more vocal students and shut down every political public event she attends in the exact same way. You could even protest her classes.

Right you are. The conduct as described is criminal under federal law—conspiracy to deprive a group (in this case the Trump supporters) of their civil and constitutional right to assemble and speak. I would advise the students to retain council, notify the University and the Justice Department of the violation, demand immediate protection, and schedule another event.
Incidents ike this are straight up brownshirt tactics. In actuality, they need to be widely broadcast. They solidify Trump support, believe it.
