Trump either knew the rules and was lazy, or he didn’t know the rules and he was lazy in not knowing them. Either way, blaming this on Cruz ignores Trump’s ignorance.
Cruz has out-organized a man who brags about landslide victories when almost 2/3 of the republican voters didn’t vote for him.
As for actual votes, Cruz’s piece of the voter pie has been rising while Trumps has remained static in recent contests.
“Trump either knew the rules and was lazy, or he didnt know the rules and he was lazy in not knowing them. Either way, blaming this on Cruz ignores Trumps ignorance.”
Agreed. If he had made all this noise back in August when the change was announced, or last week, before the conventions started in Colorado, it would seem a lot more genuine. Now it just comes off as being embarrassed that he got shut out.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the ‘regular people’ didn’t vote in North Dakota, either, did they?
Trump has no power to challenge the CO GOP rules committee before the fact.
However, after the fact, he has the power to inform CO Trump supporters and others that they were closed out of the process...and this is exactly what he is doing.
If Jeb (or Rubio or...) had been running against Trump in CO instead of Cruz, the CO GOP would have shut our Trump delegates in favor of Jeb's.
Cruz is merely a patsy for the GOPe.
