Eh. States which have their primaries in June haven’t had a part in the nomination process in decades.
The GOP is a private club, not a govt democracy. They choose their rules, and citizens choose which club to join.
Is my memory failing me? Before Mr. Trump came along, this wondrous Republican Party was talking about everything they were going to do to broaden their base. Now they're a private club?
The silver lining is that it'll be very difficult for Cruz to honestly attract any more voting fodder.
Great point. The problem for the private club, however, is that they need public support to keep running.
The very insiders who want to succeed in November need the help of people that they shut out of their club in selecting their candidate.
You could argue, "Then join the club and be a part of the rule setting."
To which many would respond, "Who wants to be a member of a club like this?"
