I think it somehow messes up their perceptions of realities. They are taught disbelief of what they inherently, instinctively know. It is basic brainwashing.

It was indeed the Frankfurt School’s contribution to the Left: the addition of Freud to Marx and Darwin.
With that synthesis, they figured out that you could not lead the proletariat with reason and logic. You had to cross over into irrationality, directly aim at the id.
Edward Bernays knew this as well and proved its effectiveness, giving the neo-Marxists a methodology that worked and the quasi-science behind it so its results could be replicated at will.
