Very well written. ****
Was he born to a Canadian citizen father while in Canada? Why, yes he was. Now, how can you be both a natural born citizen of 2 countries?
Eligibility to serve as President is, in fact, a Constitutional issue as it involves whether the Constitutional requirements to serve are met. This must be addressed at the Federal level.
Naturalized and Natural Born are not the same thing. Look it up!
It’s always standing that they have these cases dismissed before anyone can actually decide if he’s qualified. Same stalling tactic Obama used to hide his bc.
That is a question I have also. The Canadian Citizenship Act of 1946 uses the term Natural Born Citizen to describe a person born in Canada to parents who are not diplomats or foreign government officials.
Umm, I think we are living through that scenario now with a few minor corrections of names.
According to the stuff I read, Canadian was not a nationality until the Citizenship Act of 1946. I am not sure how they handled the people already around but I assume it is somewhere in the act if you care enough to read it.
...until the rats challenge it in the Roberts USSC if he’s nominated.
Thanks for that post.
That's my point, Cruz qualifies as a naturalized citizen thereby eliminating him as natural born. They are mutually exclusive.
You say: “Cruz absolutely is not a natural born citizen. etc”
The freaking country is circling the socialist drain. Cruz is a COMMITTED conservative. And THIS is the issue you’re really worried about?
Guess you’re a Trumpster. Facts and logic no longer matter to Trumpsters like you. Not even the facts that show what a PHONY Trump is.
No real conservative would EVER have given money to Hillary, Reid, McCauliffe, etc
>You say: Cruz absolutely is not a natural born citizen. etc

What did Ted Cruz just say? “The rules are the rules”.
If he’s not a NBC he’s out.
No, Section 17 only deals with natural-born Canadian citizens who at their birth became by the laws of another country a citizen of that other country. Section 16 deals with Canadian citizens who naturalize in another country, Section 18 deals with the case of a minor child whose parent gives up the parent’s Canadian citizenship and so on.
A child who meets Section 17 requirements at least until the age of 21 years is a dual citizen.
Take note, RedWulf:
Presidents who were not citizens at the time they were born:
George Washington
John Adams
Thomas Jefferson
John Quincy Adams
James Madison (key author of the US Constitution)
James Monroe
Andrew Jackson
William Harrison
All born citizens of Britain.
Just sayin’
That is what I expect.
:-/
I’m a Cruz supporter, but that isn’t the best argument as those guys were accounted for in the wording of the Constitution.
However, none of them were ever voted on to be a nominee! All were nominated in smokey back-room meetings!!
>Presidents who were not citizens at the time they were born:
>George Washington
>John Adams
>Thomas Jefferson
>John Quincy Adams
>James Madison (key author of the US Constitution)
>James Monroe
>Andrew Jackson
>William Harrison
And the guy not on that list is Alexander Hamilton because he was born in the British West Indies. And a good thing to. Hamilton while brilliant was not fundamentally an American in temperament and would have made a disastrous president, just like Ted Cruz.
