Ted Cruz Campaign Aiming to Pick up Delegates from Strategic Congressional Districts in New York
Breitbart ^ | April 11, 2016 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 04/11/2016 4:57:13 PM PDT by don-o

The data-driven Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% campaign is carefully targeting about a dozen Congressional Districts in New York State where it may have an opportunity to hold Donald Trump’s vote total below the all-important, winner-take-all 50 percent margin in next Tuesday’s GOP primary.

Cruz doesn’t expect to come close to beating Trump overall in the Empire State, and may not even think he has a chance to keep the Manhattan billionaire below the 50 percent mark statewide.

But Cruz can further advance the narrative that the Trump campaign is losing steam if he’s able to bring Trump’s delegate total below the 75 of 95 available Breitbart currently anticipates he will earn in the state.

All 14 delegates elected statewide will be allocated to the winner, provided he exceeds 50 percent of the vote. The remaining 81 delegates will be allocated on the same basis, with 3 delegates selected from each of the state’s 27 Congressional Districts.

Once the winner, statewide or in a Congressional District, drops below 50 percent, delegates are allocated proportionally.

Do you think even Trump will call foul when Cruz wins NY delegates.

The fat lady may not be singing, but she is certainly warming up regarding the Trump campaign.

btw Donald trump has shown real passion about what he feels is cheating to win delegates by Cruz and others.

I wish he had shown that same passion regarding, say, abortion, or smaller government, or school choice, or lower taxes, or welfare reform, or.......

Nah. That’s been Trump’s game from the get-go.

Vince McMahon taught him well.

Trump is using the bomb the Colorado GOP gave him to blow the corruption there sky high. I think Trump planned it that way. He knew the GOP elitist rules in Colorado. A good warrior chooses the battle - and when it’s not winnable you do an end run. That is what Trump is doing and it’s working perfectly. Look what’s happening on twitter, on facebook, here, on Drudge, and in the pressers.

Colorado was a bed built for Jeb, Cruz just happened to fall into it - wildly fornicating and fluffling every establishment elitist he can get close to. The exact same thing happened on Wisconsin.

Yes. The “only principled candidate in the race” has left the race never to return, “A Time For Truth” has defaulted to “A Time For Status Quo Gutter Politics”.

I’d like a refund on my copy of the book. Ted will wish he had never seen Colorado before this is over.

Ted will wish he had never seen Colorado before this is over.

It's like New York Values. He's earned every lick of the scorn that is coming his way.

This is interesting. There are obviously two takes on this.
I have talked to Cruz supporters, and non-Cruz supporters today and they look at trump like he is whiner.
I talked to some Trump supporters and they feel the same way you do.

I actually think this does not help Trump.

The next two weeks will tell a lot. For Trump to win the nomination he needs an inside straight. He hasn't won anything in three weeks and the news is all about Cruz winning here, gaining delegates there, not the meme Trump wants/needs.

Plus if Kasich/Cruz keep Trump under 50% that will be looked at as a loss by many. Even though I always think a win is a win, and Trump should get credit for the NY win.

seriously? why would you say that? I’ve seen you say that to others here. Is that how you deal with things you don’t like; just wish them into the corn field? Or do you report all of them to the moderators because they say things you don’t agree with?

Are people only supposed to support the faux conservative trump here?

It’s obviously taken a HUGE turn against Cruz on twitter, facebook and here. In a way it’s not fair because Colorado was prepped for Bush and now Cruz is taking the hit. But the main point is what happened in Colorado is EXACTLY what has peeved so many Americans for so long. It is why Trump gets the crows he does. It’s the reason for the movement that is the biggest story in politics in the world and in recent American political history.

abortion, or smaller government, or school choice, or lower taxes, or welfare reform, or......

You're still thinking this is Cruz? Ted can't wipe his butt without his donor's consent and now he'll have to double-check even that simple act with the GOP.
