It’s a sad commentary that ‘voters’ votes don’t matter as much as ‘back room politics’, which I see a few around here at FR are all dismissive about it because it’s “their man” who’s doing it.
To be fair, Trump wasn’t doing back room deals until he had to to keep delegates he had already won. Not only that but how is it back room politics to save delegates your votes have won? It seems more like back room politics to require resources being used to defend them.

And they consider themselves to be the “strict constitutionalists” here, when they behave like liberal democrats! Cruze probably wishes that the GOPe were just a little more corrupt so he’d have “superdelgates” like Hitlary does!
Agree and to add there were the usual handful on here we see all day and night who post their pro establishment talking points who were two or three months ago saying they hated the establishment.
Once their guy saw his failing campaign and understood the people are not voting for him he joined with the establishment and went after delegates to “influence” tem and I use the term influence lightly.
To hell with what the voters want, we have our rules what we made to suit ourselves, and voters can think they elect someone..

Agree. Jeff Roe would have to cheat his way to victory in the general, in the uunlikely event he gets that far. Backroom deals are not the way to generate voter enthusiasm.
