Phyllis Schlafly has been a strong supporter of Trump. She wrote articles stating her support of Trump earlier this year and her official endorsement for Trump was announced at a Trump Rally in Missouri last month.

The problem was Ed Martin. And now he is a goner.
It was manipulation from Ed Martin that caused the rift and it was not just about Trump. He was wielding power in ways that was not good for the organization. When Phyllis finally realized it she acted in concert with the board.
Why do you keep blaming Martin, when Phyllis Schlafley herself endorsed Donald Trump?
The Eagle Forum wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Phyllis Schlafley. The idea Martin was some loose cannon and needed to go, flies in the face that he was in full agreement with the Founder of the Eagle Forum.
Schlafley’s daughter and others mutinied and took over. It’s that simple. They wanted to back Ted Cruz, so now the board has been taken over by the Ted Cruz faction, and is now for all intents and purposes Ted Cruz’ operation.
Phylllis Schlafley’s daughter made this an issue, and you damn well know it.
Eagle Forum is really a collection of accomplished, successful, conservative women who do tremendous work and have done so for over 30 years in a spirit of unity, which is quite unusual.
I worked for Phyllis for nearly seven years and I know of which I speak.
Her support and endorsement endorsement of Trump was huge for me.
How awful it must have been to have daughter and husband plotting against her—to oust her from the organization she founded :(

I have just released the following statement to the press and our members:"At 2:00 pm today, 6 directors of Eagle Forum met in an improper, unprecedented telephone meeting. I objected to the meeting and at 2:11pm, I was muted from the call. The meeting was invalid under the Bylaws but the attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me. They are attempting to seize access to our bank accounts, to terminate employees, and to install members of their own Gang of 6 to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.
"The members of their group are: Eunie Smith of Alabama, Anne Cori of Missouri, Cathie Adams of Texas, Rosina Kovar of Colorado, Shirley Curry of Tennessee, and Carolyn McLarty of Oklahoma.
"This kind of conduct will not stand and I will fight for Eagle Forum and I ask all men and women of good will to join me in this fight."
The people that Phyllis named just fired Ed Martin. Ed Martin also leaned in favor of Trump.
Months ago, The Eagle Forum, or at least its leadership except for the founder, endorsed Cruz.

Phyllis Schalfley asked for her daughter’s resignation today, and that of five or six others.
Please be assured that all the plotting was done by Ed Martin. Any actions on the part of the board were done in order to save Phyllis and Eagle Forum and they succeeded.
The board will of course say that the mutineer was Ed Martin, and since he is gone, and they "won the war," they get to write the history.
Let’s not forget that Phyliss understands something that a lot of these know-it-alls don’t. It is about nationalism versus globalism this cycle. I fought alongside her in the 90s when she endorsed Pat Buchanan (coincidentally another nationalist - see her pattern?). She STILL knows what’s really going on here at age 91, you better believe it!
So the thanks Phyllis gets, is to have her organization taken over by her traitorous daughter and her allies.

Eagle Forum just ceased to exist as far as I am concerned.
It’s now simply another GOPe resource, currently aiding Ted Cruz.

It was Ed who planted the idea that the board were acting nefariously. Which they were not. It was Ed who sent his crooked information to Breitbart which got the whole mess going.
I am familiar with the inside info and have talked to individuals involved. This did not take place because of Trump. It took place because of Ed Martin.

Ed Martin was fired for reasons that had nothing to do with Trump. Ed lied to Phyllis and then manipulated her into believing that her own daughter was against her. When the board realized how far he had gone they stepped in and did the right thing and fired him.
I don’t believe a word you say. And that is all I have to say to you.
