I’m certainly willing to give Bono a doubt!

After all, he professes Christ, and without equivocation. He often praises conservative politicians in the US, IF they work with him on a particular project....I’ve heard him over the years praise Rick Santorum, Jesse Helms and George W. Bush.

This is something that 100% liberals are unable to do.

So I think - hope - that you might be right.

The band’s response to Paris was very good, as well. (They are after all, a band...given that, they did what they could).

Finally....Bono’s views on Ireland/UK/the North over the years have also been nuanced....they have never been in the tank for one side or the other.

So again....I hope you are right!

The word "nuanced" very well describes Bono's public statements going back over 30 years.

He chooses his words very carefully, and if unsure about what to say, shuts up altogether. Quite the contrast with other rock stars in the news lately.

Plus, tabloid hit-pieces not withstanding, he has a 30+ year history of public philanthropy that he has skillfully leveraged for worthy causes.

He's a very accomplished man who has walked the walk.
