I think you are making the assumption that anyone is looking for new bugs and security flaws in XP...

Irrelevant, do not connect with squat, so where is the security risk? All of us do not use computers for internet only.

Things run fine and have for years without any MS updates. I follow that same regimen with Win 7 and it works.
