It used to be called shit on a shingle.
The sh** on a shingle I’m familiar with is made with a deli package of thin sliced meat like ham cooked in an excuse for gravy made out of flour and milk and served on a piece of toast-an aunt learned how to make it from her husband, who was from up north someplace-she called it SOS-and she was the only one who would eat it-the stuff tasted like library paste with bits of mystery meat on a sheet of cardboard...
But even that SOS looked better than what is on that school lunch tray...
