no no, I listened to the entire thing. He quite properly used Reagan as an example. Reagan was the ultimate usurper. Here was a guy primarying a sitting president. They hate Reagan to a degree that Ted Cruz and Trump could only dream of.

The first time around in 1976 Reagan had more delegates but the establishment used the rules to win a contested convention. The next time around Reagan came prepared and used those same rules to smash the establishment’s control and seize the party. But seize it he had to, make no mistake about it.

What Rush was saying is that nothing has changed since the days of Reagan and if you want to grab this party from the establishment you need to use their rules against them.

So, doing it the way Reagan did had no lasting effect but that's the way to go?

I think not.

And on another note, I have noticed that the second someone makes an observation about what Trump is doing wrong or could be doing better they are instantly labelled a “Cruz Bot” or some such nonsense.

Rush has endorsed nobody in this race. He is making observations. He has also made some that Cruz supporters might not want to hear. The absolute lack of objectivity that the heat of this race is generating is alarming.

Here is my choice, Cruz, Trump, either as long as it is not the GOPe. I support Cruz but if Trump wins I am all behind him and will work to get him elected. I will do this because I know full well that if either gets the nomination you can bet your bottom dollar that our friends in the establishment will be working to undermine both.

Do you think if Trump “learns the rules” then he will win the nomination?

I remember it too well. Reagan had more votes than Ford, and on paper had more delegates, but Reagan couldn't even get on the ballot in PA and NY and they sent a large batch of "uncommitted" delegates. Those delegates were technically uncommitted, but were Ford supporters. Reagan made a last attempt to get some PA delegates by putting PA Senator Richard Shweiker (sp?) on the ticket as VP. The move was poorly received, but Reagan had few other options.
