“I know a guy that committed a felony ( non violent)when he was seventeen, did his time, went on to just work, make good money and pay taxes and have a family. He is forty now and still cannot rent an apartment in Texas.”

By now you would think he’d own his own house !!

He does, but had to move for a job and tried to rent an apartment when they first got there until they could find a house. He had owned his own house for so long and didn’t need to rent, and they were shocked to find out that apartments would not rent to a felon for 100 years.
