Kasich: 'I am going to leave Cleveland as the nominee’
The Hill ^ | 4/14/16 | Mark Hensch

Posted on 04/15/2016 1:59:21 AM PDT by markomalley

Gov. John Kasich (R-Ohio) on Thursday said that he would become the GOP presidential nominee after a contested Republican National Convention.

“I am going to leave Cleveland as the nominee,” he said during the annual New York State GOP gala in New York City.

“Whether you believe it or not, it’s going to happen,” Kasich added. "We are going to go to a convention. This is not about the nomination. This is about who can win the White House after defeating Hillary Clinton.” Kasich said that either Clinton or Bernie Sanders would escalate the national debt if elected president.

“We have $19 trillion in debt,” he said. "When the debt goes up, your opportunities to get a job go down. By the time they’re done giving away all the free stuff, the debt will be up to $30 trillion and no one will be able to get a job. This is why we have to stop them.”

Kasich added that GOP voters should reject Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, because they are too unlikable.

“Do you know what will happen if we nominate people who have high negatives and can’t beat Hillary?” he asked. "There’s a very good chance your Senate majority leader becomes your Senate minority leader.

“We risk losing everything from the White House to the state house to the court house if we don’t promote a positive, uplifting message. It’s not pie in the sky," he said.

“How do I change my enrollment?

If you wish to change your enrollment from one party to another or from not-enrolled to a party, send a Voter Registration Form with your new choice to your county board of elections. The board will notify you when the change takes place, by Law, after the next general election.”

Get it? Your change of party does not take effect until AFTER THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION! Now are you going to admit you were wrong or run away?

More damaging than a write in is voting for a third party. A write in for an uncertified candidate won't be counted. A blank vote, not voting or a write in leaves room for mischief.

Want to destroy the Republican Party for good if the nomination is stolen? A third party candidate getting almost as many votes would do that.

Don't know 'bout that. There are some real questions about Colorado and folks not getting to vote. In OH, those delegates might be by state party rules be obligated to Trump if Kasich isn't nominated. The RNC is going to have to change the rules to get Kasich nominated.

It's stolen if those delegate issues are used to thwart Trump's majority.

Yes, and I’m going to win the lottery big time. My chances are better than John Boy. IF the GOP by some disastrous occurrence DOES give him the nomination, that’s the death of the GOP. They can finally join the Democrats.

Felonious deportations? You just gave yourself away. So you are for amnesty? Not very conservative.

“Kasich added that GOP voters should reject Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, because they are too unlikable.”

>>In the latest CBS poll Trump’s at 42%, Cruz at 29% and Kasich’s at 18%... Maybe Kasich can’t do simple math...<<

When John Kasich was in congress he had a reputation of arriving at a meeting with a room full friends but leaving with a room full of enemies.

He was that unlikable and difficult to work with.

“but like I said 3.25.16 was the cutoff for the primary”

Only for new voters. For party changes they are locked in sealed box and don’t take effect until the Tuesday after the next general election. A person who never voted could sign up on 3/24/16 and vote in the primary. If Ivanka had sent in her party change it wouldn’t take effect until next November. It’s right there in the FAQs on the website you cited.
