Hartford had to be quite a trek from Newtown. But all the *old stores* {Fox, Sages, Thompson's] had *everything* in the world had to offer ... to us, it was like going to Paris or NYC. Christmas was a wonderment, to us kids, the decorations were stunning.

The Hartford of the 50s and 60s had a stable population of working stiffs. Schools were top notch. Marriages were stable. The Hartford of today is full of landlord neglected housing, welfare queens and few real good job opportunities, besides being broke, both fiscally and spiritually.

Winchester is showing his age [I'll have to count the tags on his collar, b/c I don't remember...derp!]...he had a health scare 2 weeks ago [2 trips to the emerg vet in one day] ...and we still don't really know what was wrong. But he seems OK now ....full a vinegar! :)
