Maybe instead of crying about how unfair it is after the fact. Trump and the “amazingly great” people in his campaign should act like they give a damn about those delegates and go get them. Just a thought.

I heard one delegate hopeful on the radio (WPHT 1210) several weeks back from PA-13 (Eastern Montco/NE Phila) who said that he is voting for Cruz if he (the delegate) wins, no matter who the voters choose.

On the same program there was a delegate hopeful from western Bucks County (Hilltown area) who said that while he favored Trump personally, he would vote as his district's voters voted.

Doesn't sound like the first one CARES about the vote of the people (and I don't think the ballot shows delegate preference.)

I just found this quote from the Morning Call:

It's easy to pick a Republican presidential candidate on the state's primary ballot. It's impossible to pick a delegate who may or may not be beholden to voting for that same person at the convention. That's because the delegates don't have to state, and the ballot doesn't disclose, any allegiances.

I don't object to playing by the rules. Not at all.

However

If the RESULT of playing by the rules is that voting in primary elections is revealed to be a sham, the consequences will be somewhat unpredictable.

Cruz people: Be careful what you wish for. You might get it.

This is shaping up to be an interesting election year.

The clear winners of the popular vote in BOTH parties may be SCROOOOOOOD out of their victories by the elites. The third-world spectre of political violence rocking our streets seems now all to real.

Not to mention the long-term repercussions of telling the public that voting does not matter anymore.

RE:”Not to mention the long-term repercussions of telling the public that voting does not matter anymore.”

Anymore??

These are the same rules they always had,

The difference is that his-highness Trump lost (due to incompetence) so now he wants them changed so he wins instead. He doesn't want to follow them.

He never cared about them before.

I’m going to bookmark this post of yours. No, as a matter of fact I’ll bookmark my response to it.

The premise is that Trump wins the popular vote, and Ted gets more delegates.

To this your only comment is..., “Go Ted!”

SickOfLibs, I’ve spoken to you for a while now about saying things that discredit you. And this comment of yours does just that.

You are now on record supporting the subverted will of the electorate.

What is more sacred to a Conservative that the sanctified vote? In political terms, noting. It’s the very bedrock of a system of government where the powers of the government are limited and the power of the people is elevated.

WTF are you thinking about, that allows you to be so gleeful that your candidate might benefit from the most vile corruption our nation can experience politically?

Is it any wonder folks are very damning of Cruz supporters for their lack of concern over the subverted will of, “THE PEOPLE!”

RE:”The premise is that Trump wins the popular vote, and Ted gets more delegates’

The premise that is that Trump decided to run as a Republican
No one forced him too.

The fact that he and his campaign were so incompetent that they didn't know the rules is not Ted's fault.

They didnt change the rules for Trump, Trump lost and now its suddenly 'unfair, cheating, stealing,...bla-bla-bla'

Trump theme :”If I get my way then it must be OK”

Yes, as a matter of fact he did decide to run as a Republican. Why shouldn’t he have? There isn’t one platform issue that was in Reagan’s platform that isn’t in Trump’s. And yet you obtuse folks still can’t grasp that after ten months.

The state in focus here was Pennsylvania. I noticed how quick you changed it to Colorado, thinking you’d have a better footing. You don’t. Even today the truth is oozing out about Colorado’s corrupted process.

But no, this was Pennsylvania, involved a clearly defined corrupted process, and you approved gleefully as long as it benefited Ted Cruz.

Good luck wiggling out of that.

RE:”Yes, as a matter of fact he did decide to run as a Republican. Why shouldn’t he have? “

Because he doesn't like the rules, but only when he loses delegates.

No one forced him to........now Trump says they have to be changed because he is unhappy losing delegates....which was because his campaign was too incompetent to understand them..

When Trump get’s his way then everything MUST be OK”

PA fellow here.

The basic point is that it looks likely Trump will win big here in the popular vote, his stances seem popular here.

The biggest point in his favor is the economic plan. He is the one most folks here, right or wrong, seem to think has some concern for the middle and working class jobs. Ted Cruz is seen as lacking those interests. Yes Ted Cruz is for smaller government, less regulation and many other good things, but on the issues that seem to matter to folks here, Trump seems to have the advantage.

Further Cruz and his attempt to raise the retirement age to 70 does not go over well here. Very few manual labor folks can do that, it is effectively a way to reduce their social security benefits. Put forward by a man who has worked his entire life in governmental circles, becoming a millionaire by age 41 (only 15 years of paid work). Call it tone deaf.

Now PA has a long tradition of political corruption, going back to the late 1860s. Remember the Molly Maquires were a reaction to corrupt political interests in the coal fields in the 1870s. So folks here are not exactly trusting of the powers that be doing the right thing when directed to do otherwise by the powers that be.

Now if Trump wins the popular vote by say 10 to 15 %, but gets only the ~17 delegates, while 40 others end up voting for Cruz in July...well it will not be pretty. You can kiss goodbye any chance of Cruz winning this state.

Right now what this fellow sees is PA should be competitive for the republicans, as long as the republican stance is anti-illegal, anti H1B visa, anti-Obama care, anti-war, Pro vet, pro US nationalist policy with a strong emphasis on trying to bring back industrial/value-added jobs. Cruz could be # 1 on the ticket and trump # 2, but a deal where Cruz takes it alone at the convention by a lawyer method and not by getting the most votes (while according to the rules) will mean this states goes democratic.

The GOP is corrupt and doesn’t represent the people, no different then the DNC.

Both parties need to be rejected.

Christie is in the Trump camp and should sway quite a few of the undecideds also.

Good point, Trump and Sanders should team together for a third party run.

The single payer brothers.

Your comment

“The single payer brothers”

Is simply wrong. Trump has said he wants a market based approach. Now if you believe he will not do what he says, it is fair to say that, but not to misrepresent what he has said.

Why Cruz folks keep repeating falsehoods....well I cannot figure it out.

With all you Trumpees claiming you will not vote in November it makes no sense to nominate Trump.

I’ll vote Trump in Nov. or 3rd party. I will vote 3rd party down the ballot and not support the GOP and the selected candidates.

More reason to reject Trump now.
