Is There Another Colorado Coming?
PoliZette ^ | April 13, 2016 | Ashley Pratte

Still reeling after Sen. Ted Cruz’s delegate sweep in Colorado, voters are waking up to the fact that delegates are the ones who will determine the Republican nominee and that the primaries and caucuses are just for show. What’s more, there might just be another Colorado on the horizon, where voters will get no say at all.

Up next is the state of Wyoming, a state which, along with Colorado and North Dakota, has chosen to not hold a nominating contest this year, which means no primary or caucus vote. Instead, Republican voters there will be represented by county delegates at a convention April 14-16. They will select the statewide delegates who will represent Wyoming at the Republican National Convention in July in Cleveland.

Wyoming holds 29 delegates: 14 will be elected at the convention and 12 have already been selected at county conventions — nine of which are Cruz supporters. One delegate went to Sen. Marco Rubio, one went to Donald Trump, and one is uncommitted. The remaining three delegates slots automatically go to members of the state GOP.

After the results in Colorado, a decision made last August when the state party there decided voters would not weigh in, one can expect Trump and his team to take Wyoming seriously and put forth a strong effort to make sure their supporters are selected to the remaining 14 slots at the Wyoming convention.

Wyoming is the final state to opt not to hold a nominating contest. Following the Cowboy State are states such as Delaware, Arizona and Virginia, which will hold their state conventions on April 30 — following their state’s caucuses or primaries. Most of the other states have gone more as expected.

It was not a binding vote.

In few of those states did people have a voice.

The party can do what it wants and those that rigged the system against the people for victory of their way at all cost have to live with the decision. However they should never complain when a rogue federal judge or appeals court screws them. It is only the insider way, laws by the people are not important only a few insiders matter.

Total baloney. By and large, the Rockies are Conservative ground, and has HIGHLY independent people. Much more civil-libertarian. Much more FREE.

As I reported yesterday, at various times Donald Trump has had hundreds of millions of dollars in loans from Citibank and Goldman, some of which have been repaid, some of which were discharged in bankruptcy when Trump’s Altantic City casino went belly up. By Trump’s own standard, Citibank and Goldman own him, too.
But of course, it’s much worse than that for Trump. As a twitter user pointed out, according to Trump’s most recent financial disclosures, he has hundreds of millions of dollars in loans from virtually every bank on Wall Street. Here is a copy of the form.

Which is why there was such a YUGE outcry for justice in Colorado herself - Why, there must have been at least 75 people at the protest![\sarc]

So what???

That is as a businessman and nothing to do with him as a politician. You are grasping at straws here.

On the other hand, the loans to Cruz and the donors from Goldman-Sachs is to a professional politician.

One is for building a business, while the other is for political influence which is a huge difference. I hope you understand the difference.

Nice spin. Actually, in Colorado, a tempest in a teapot. Coloradans know what they're doing. There will be no outcry.

Stop the Stupid Please. You are insulting our intelligence comparing Bribes by Lobbyists with Cruz with Normal Business loans with Trump. You do not vote the way your mortgage company tells you too. So there is no comparison at all.

Completely untrue. Any Republican can walk into the local precinct and participate.

They are independent people, I worked in South Dakota and my best friend growing up college and still close friend today lives in Montana. However, the conservativim of that area is different than the conservativim in the SE. We do not predicate anyone putting their opinion above our own. So when people put themselves in the position of speaking for us without giving us a voice we get pretty mad. Obviously the MOuntin and plains states do not care. Too bad.

The Nevada and Iowa caucus were public caucuses where people could show up on one day and express their support for a candidate. Colorado was a closed caucus with multiple levels of voting required, That process precludes people with many responsibilities from participating.

Cruz is on life support at this point. He is going to loose massively in the upcoming primaries. He will be forced out soon after April 26th.
