Fact is Cruz doesn’t win states with more than a few dozen voters.

This is just not so.

The largest popular vote for any single candidate so far was in Texas where Cruz got 1,240,000 votes at 44%.

He won in Wisconsin with over 530,000 votes. In Oklahoma, Idaho, and UT, where they held regular primaries he won in each with over 100,000 vote in each.

So he does win some of those.

He also does very well in the caucus and county/state convention states where your ground game counts big time.

I agree it is not going to be enough. After Tuesday in NY he will not have any mathematical chance to get to 1237. I expect Trump will got over 50% of the vote there and probably win almost all, if not all of those delegates.

If Trump does well the next week (and I expect he will) he will have a commanding lead with a very good chance of getting to 1237...which I hope he does.

Cruz, after about May 3rd needs to, and I pray will, suspend his campaign and get behind trump.

I am a Cruz supporter...but we as a nation need:

1) To beat the dems in November.

2) Drive a stake into the heart of the GOPe.

Cruz can help make that happen by ultimately getting behind Trump and avoiding a raucous convention which will split the party and hand the lection to the Dems. By so doing he will also help drive that stake into the GOPe.

That is what I hope and pray happens.

Texas is his home state. 43% is a historically low number for a favorite son. Trump received a larger percent of the vote in FL tahn Cruz did in his home state! Romney of course influenced the Utah primary. Etc., etc.

The fact is Cruz has only won 2 of the 20 biggest electoral vote prizes. He simply isn’t competitive to Trump who will have won 13 of those states after 4/26.
