If you want some interesting reading, research Ted Cruz’s childhood and the crap dropped on him from his dad and mom, as well as his half sister (from dad’s previous marriage). That he became a high achiever is quite amazing. I think knowing his backstory would answer a lot of questions for inquiring minds.
